CARL KOCH

Carl is a sports performance and fitness coach based in San Diego, CA. He holds a BS in Exercise Science and is certified through NASM as a corrective exercise specialist and performance enhancement specialist.

 

Carl has been helping his clients reach their personal fitness and sports performance goals for over 8 years. They include professional athletes; high school athletes pursuing Division 1 colleges; young athletes wanting to improve fundamental mechanics, stability, mobility, strength, and power; as well as fitness clients wanting to gain muscle mass, increase strength, and/or reduce body fat; and clients continuing rehabilitation after physical therapy.

 

No matter what his client's goals are, his approach to training is to make sure all aspects of health are incorporated into the program: developing positive mindsets, optimizing breathing, managing stress, educating about proper nutrition (no fad diets), and all other recovery methods. This is done in accordance with evidence-based training sessions to safely and efficiently achieve his client's goals.

"I first learned from Carl when I saw my friend post on IG a video of an ankle mobility exercise they were doing and it caught my interest, especially because I'm a Physical Therapist and I know quality content when I see it.

Carl is by far the most passionate trainer that I know because every workout is intentional. He does his research, stays on top of up-to-date interventions, and most importantly, personalizes your plan to fit what you need, instead of some cookie-cutter BS.

Carl was my strength & conditioning coach when I was training for a Muay Thai fight and he did a damn good job. I could jump higher, run faster, was more explosive, was stronger than I have ever been. I even gained muscle mass and lost body fat %.

 

I went from never deadlifting, to deadlifiting 225lbs. I went from not being able to do a single leg squat, to doing a single leg squat while holding a 10lbs plate. I went from being scared of box jumps to being able to jump over and onto a 31" box and hurdle.
